Living In A "Big Girl" House

I don't like formula decorating," said Stough. "I like a little mix.  It needs to have form and function, and if it makes your heart sing, that's a function.  And if it doesn't make your heart sing, then wait."  Just thinking about finding all the right pieces to go into your home that "make your heart sing" must take many, many hours of shopping.  When asked if she likes to shop, Stough replies, "I can be found at fine stores everywhere."  When pressed to mention a few, she says, "Fran Jaspers for rugs, Ewald Associates for Italian accessories and Italian painted furniture, Steve Tipton, Trace Mayer, Isaac & Isaac's, Century Shop ('The most beautiful porcelain I've ever seen.') for antiques, Twiggs for Country French pieces, and Bedded Bliss for French and Italian linens."  But her most favorite place to shop is the Sunday market at L'Isle sur La Gorgue in northern Provence.  "For me it is like a religious experiencing."  When she puts it like that it's understandable why she says, "I love the process."

Dining Room
The dining room, the most formal room in the house, shows off the original hardwood floors and heavy wood doors.  Lee says about the doors, "All we did was wax and rub them."  Pierre Frey fabric is used for the slipcovers.
