Sharing A Vision

Once the inside of the house was finished, work on the outside began in earnest.  The same attention to how they wanted to live outside was taken into consideration.  A concrete patio was poured, laying the foundation for the stone or brick that will go over it as soon as they decide which way they want to go.  A pergola was built adding more charm to the already picturesque backyard.  Together Anitra and Kip designed the flowerbeds by taking chalk and mapping it out.  As normal for gardeners, their gardens are a work in progress and are only the way they are now until a new idea comes to mind.

For Anitra, a new idea from Kip takes on a whole different meaning.  "Some people don't take 'oh, what if?' very seriously.  But around here, 'oh, what if? ' means look out - there will be workers here pretty soon."

Patio
The pergola was added to blend the old section of the house with the new breakfast room addition. "We took larger boards and cut it down the middle to get wider planks.  The pergola is such a big structure (the bigger boards) give it more balance," says Anitra.
