"It was a major decision, " she says of the living room's makeover. "I was terrified it would look like a silo."
Her decision paid off and gave her the confidence to trust her instincts about a room. "Now I just love to do it. I can look at a house and go, "I'm going to tear this wall out and that wall out," Ridge says.
The dining room echoes the living room's open feel. Alice Mobley, an employee of Ridge's jewelry business, made the draperies for both rooms.
The kitchen is highlighted by gothic-style glass doors on the cabinets and elegant marble countertops. The tile design on the backsplash features a sheep and a horse, another nod to English country style. The large bar cabinet sports a copper top that almost blends in with the wood's stain. Framed childhood artwork created by Peter and Alex is framed and hung on the kitchen's walls for a dash of colorful fun.
The great room was a new addition to the house, but feels as though it has been connected all along. Ridge achieved that feel by making sure the room was centered with a walk-in fireplace.
