An Unexpected Move Toward The Traditional

Cook has recently started working with Michael Hoskins from Hubbuch & Co., and from him she has learned to accent individual antique pieces and that more is not necessarily better.  "I think Michael Hoskins is into the focus of the individual pieces and does not want to take away from those," she says.  A perfect example is the new wallpaper going up in their foyer.  "That's where he is coming from with that wallpaper.  Let's not walk in and say, 'Wow, look at this wallpaper.'  Let's say, 'what beautiful pieces she has.'"

Master Bedroom
Over the seven years the Cooks have lived in the house, the master bedroom has slowly evolved to fit their design taste. "I tried to make everything work, but over time I replaced everything except the basics in the master bedroom," says Cook. Interior designer Michael Hoskins with Hubbuch & Co. put on the final touches selecting antique botanical prints along with 18th century architectural woodcarvings to go over the bed; from Geneva Archibald Galleries, along with the desk. The chandelier is Russian or Baltic in the neoclassical style from Steve Tipton Antiques. These contrast with the stark carpet.
