With
proper usage and care, you can expect your CottagesandGardens
Baskets & Liners to serve you well for many years to come. A well made wooden
basket (ours are made of solid white oak) that has been used appropriately and received
proper care can often last a lifetime and beyond. |

Heritage Baskets |
The
primary consideration in maintaining a wooden basket is to add moisture to it periodically
to keep it from drying out. We recommend wiping your baskets thoroughly every couple
of months with a clean cloth that is very damp. We also suggest soaking your wooden
baskets in water for about 30 minutes every six months. |
|
You
will generally increase the life of your basket if you keep it away from places that subject
it to considerable heat, sunlight, dry air, and other conditions that might accelerate the
drying out of the basket. |

Heritage Basket Liners, Garters & Handle Wraps |
Wash
Liners, Garters & Handle Wraps using cold water and a mild detergent. Wash on a
delicate cycle if available (may also be hand washed). Line dry if possible, or
alternatively in a dryer on low heat. For best results, place them on the basket while
still damp and form fit to the basket and allow to air dry (this is good for the basket
too!). |
